Youth Scholarships

At Hope for Kentucky, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to participate in activities that build confidence, character, and community. Our Youth Scholarships provide financial assistance to support elementary and middle school students in accessing sports, arts, and other enrichment programs that might otherwise be out of reach.

Scholarships listed on this page are awarded at the sole discretion of Hope for Kentucky and are subject to availability. While we strive to offer these opportunities as consistently as possible, funding and eligibility may vary. Please check back regularly for updates on available scholarships and application details.

Beyond the Game Scholarship

Scholarship Qualifications

To ensure that the Beyond the Game Scholarship supports young athletes who need it most, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

The applicant’s family must demonstrate financial need, defined as:
- Eligibility for free or reduced-price lunch through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP)
- Participation in a government assistance program (e.g., SNAP, Medicaid, WIC)
- A written statement explaining financial hardship that would prevent participation in a sports league without assistance
The applicant must be a student in grades K-5.
The applicant must be enrolled in a Jefferson County Public School in Kentucky.
The applicant must be recommended by a coach, teacher, or school administrator who can attest to their commitment, teamwork, and enthusiasm for sports.
The scholarship funds must be used toward sports league participation fees, uniforms, or equipment required for the sport.
- Funds will be distributed directly to the student's sport league of choice.
